Beastman & Batman from Boston
Here’s a pair of Sketches I did at Boston ComicCon last weekend. The first one is Batman:
Next up is Beastman:
Here’s the thing about Beastman. I made it my mission at Boston Comic Con to buy a Beastman action figure from the MattyCollector Classics line.
I couldn’t find one, so my wife suggested I draw him instead. So I did. Now I REALLY want one!
So here’s the deal. If anyone out there would care to send me the Beastman action figure I want, I’ll send them this original art. Its on 9X12 Bristol board and the art goes right to the edges of the page. Its done in pencil, ink and Copic colored markers. Whattayathink? Deal?
King Con and Virginia Con
More events for the Social Club? YES. More!
First up, this weekend, November 6-7 is the King Con at the Brooklyn Lyceum. Club members in attendance will be Bobby Timony, Kevin Colden, Matthew Petz, David Gallaher and Mike Zagari. Look for a few of us appearing on the Zuda retrospective panel as well.
Next up, on Nov 20-21 is the Virginia Comic Con in Richmond. Making the roadtrip south will be The Timony Twins, Daniel Govar and the inimitable Mike Zagari. Come and seek us out!
Peanut Butter Batman Time
Everybody loves to draw Batman, and I am no exception. Here’s a sketch of Batman I drew at the recent New York ComicCon, as well as a series of three Batman related sketch cards I drew at the Albany Con last weekend.

Upcoming Appearances
We’ve got a couple of things coming up soon, and we at the Comic Social Club would love it if you all attended, because we’re social people, y’see?
Pack Up Your Troubles, Albany Bound
First up, this Sunday, October 24th, the Timony Twins (The Night Owls) along with fellow CSCer Mike Zagari (Human on the Inside) and our mutual pal Declan Shalvey (Thunderbolts) will be making a road trip up north to the Albany Comic Con! It’s an intimate event with a great guest list, so if you’re in the area or feel like making a road trip of it (like we’re doing), its highly recommended.
Live Double Clubbin’
It’s always a good time when two comic clubs get together! If you’re in NYC this Tuesday, October 26th, may I suggest a visit to the People’s Improv Theater for the excellent Comic Book Club Live, a comic book talk show that unspools before your eyes. Tuesday’s guest is the incomparable Kevin Colden (I Rule the Night) who’ll be talking about his latest project, Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper. He’ll be joined by the Kids in the Hall‘s Scott Thompson, who’ll be literally phoning it in.
UPCOMING:
King Con in Brooklyn is coming November 4-5-6, and the Comic Social Club will be there! Look for another post next week with more details, including who’s going and what panels we’ll be on!
Firestorm Sketch
So, I started drawing this commissioned Firestorm headsketch at the Baltimore Comic-Con and as I started to ink it, I suddenly remembered that the guy wanted it drawn in his sketchbook. I was drawing it on a piece of Letter-sized bristol. So, I started over in the guys book, and he was very happy with the finished piece.
Anyway, I was going through some papers and I found the first pencil sketch I had done and decided to ink it up, color it, and share it with the Club. Enjoy.
