Harry Potter Week begins!
Harry Potter is back in theaters this week in the penultimate chapter to his sprawling adventure. We here at the Comic Social Club offer a toast to J.K. Rowling’s outstandingly entertaining opus and hope to one day see the world of Harry Potter explored in our favorite medium, COMICS.
To that end, we present you with Harry Potter week, and I’ll kick it off with one of my favorite characters, Luna Lovegood, communing with a family of thestrals. I hope you like it.
Here Comes OMNI-MAN
The lost image of Omni-Man fighting the aliens at Invincible Vol 1
I hope you like it.
I want to make this scene because I remember that is the first team Up Omni-man Invicible fighting an alien Invasion from a parallel universe, at the end they win because in the other side the time is diferent so the aliens died for aging.
Few pages later a Omni-man is kidnapped for the aliens and imprison and enslave him for eight months (in the parallel universe) Omni led a revolt against the captors and come back to home with the help of the scientists from the rebellion. Nothing of this is see in the comic, just is narrated when he comeback so I chose to make one of the lost panels at the other universe
See ya the next week.
Invincible Week! Starring Invincible!
Invincible is my kind of character. He’s a creator owned new(ish) superhero, fun to read, and fun to draw.
Batgirl
It’s true. I threw down the bat-gauntlet, but I’d never throw down a gauntlet without being prepared to pony up, so in the spirit of fair-play, here’s a Batgirl I drew.
Bobby
King Con and Virginia Con
More events for the Social Club? YES. More!

Next up, on Nov 20-21 is the Virginia Comic Con in Richmond. Making the roadtrip south will be The Timony Twins, Daniel Govar and the inimitable Mike Zagari. Come and seek us out!
Peanut Butter Batman Time
Everybody loves to draw Batman, and I am no exception. Here’s a sketch of Batman I drew at the recent New York ComicCon, as well as a series of three Batman related sketch cards I drew at the Albany Con last weekend.

Upcoming Appearances
We’ve got a couple of things coming up soon, and we at the Comic Social Club would love it if you all attended, because we’re social people, y’see?
Pack Up Your Troubles, Albany Bound
First up, this Sunday, October 24th, the Timony Twins (The Night Owls) along with fellow CSCer Mike Zagari (Human on the Inside) and our mutual pal Declan Shalvey (Thunderbolts) will be making a road trip up north to the Albany Comic Con! It’s an intimate event with a great guest list, so if you’re in the area or feel like making a road trip of it (like we’re doing), its highly recommended.
Live Double Clubbin’
It’s always a good time when two comic clubs get together! If you’re in NYC this Tuesday, October 26th, may I suggest a visit to the People’s Improv Theater for the excellent Comic Book Club Live, a comic book talk show that unspools before your eyes. Tuesday’s guest is the incomparable Kevin Colden (I Rule the Night) who’ll be talking about his latest project, Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper. He’ll be joined by the Kids in the Hall‘s Scott Thompson, who’ll be literally phoning it in.
UPCOMING:
King Con in Brooklyn is coming November 4-5-6, and the Comic Social Club will be there! Look for another post next week with more details, including who’s going and what panels we’ll be on!
