Beastman & Batman from Boston
Here’s a pair of Sketches I did at Boston ComicCon last weekend. The first one is Batman:
Next up is Beastman:
Here’s the thing about Beastman. I made it my mission at Boston Comic Con to buy a Beastman action figure from the MattyCollector Classics line.
I couldn’t find one, so my wife suggested I draw him instead. So I did. Now I REALLY want one!
So here’s the deal. If anyone out there would care to send me the Beastman action figure I want, I’ll send them this original art. Its on 9X12 Bristol board and the art goes right to the edges of the page. Its done in pencil, ink and Copic colored markers. Whattayathink? Deal?
Doctor Who: more than just a theme
I’m not sure if we’re still doing the Doctor as our theme in honor of the new series starting up but I wanted to show my contribution anyway as I am so excited for the new series starting up. Not only am I excited for the series, but I am also going to be doing some work for the Doctor Who series for IDW so this is sort of a teaser of what you can expect to see from me on the series.
I honestly believe that Doctor Who is one of the best pieces of fiction out there today and I am proud to be able to contribute to part of that mythos.

Happy Holidays from Mike Z
For several years, this hero has graced my holiday cards. I call him the Candy Man. Now he has returned! What’s his origin you might ask? Well, after his home planet was destroyed, he was sent to earth in a rocket and landed in small town in Kansa….wait, that’s not right. He doesn’t have an origin. But he’s fun to draw. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
Dark Ages Fantastic Four : Monty Python and the Holy Grail
For my “Fantastic Four Through the Ages” illustration I wanted to create something dark. Really Dark. So I chose the Dark Ages. Then, for inspiration, I ran through my mental rolodex of any movies that took place in the Dark Ages. And then happen to have chosen a movie that takes such darkness, and well…turns it upside down. My piece features the Dark Ages Fantastic Four battling the villains from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I did my best to stay away from Camelot though. It is a silly place.
