Tag Team Week: Gentleman Broncos
I think this qualifies as a tag team?
This illustration works 1000% better when you listen to this song . Seriously.
Prepare for the Yeast Wars.

Orang-Attack!
The following is an 8 page pitch that Peter and I worked on for Zuda Comics back in the day. Sadly, it never ran there, but now you can see it here at the Comic Social Club for our Monkeys Week!

Monkey Week? Who doesn’t love drawing monkeys?
While I’ve done a couple of monkey comics in the past couple of years I figured I roll out with a brand new drawing of “My Favorite Monkey” from DC Comics;
I’m on a “Where The Wild Things Are” kick at the moment for another project, so you’ll see how a few Sendak elements crept into the design. It’s one of the nicest things about doing these weekly themes; whatever else is in my head just comes spilling out.
And, seriously, who doesn’t look forward to drawing the King of Gorilla City?

He-Man week; “name this painting”
When the idea of a HE-MAN theme week came up I didn’t think I’d have much to add. I’m a bit older after all, and never grew up with the cartoon as some of my peers have. But irony is ageless and, let’s face it, the characters here are pretty damn ironic. Easy enough for an old curmudgeon like myself to identify with.
So here’s a fun idea; name the painting. I had a few titles in mind, but lost track of what might be funny here while making sure the banana was just the right bold yellow.
Rene Magritte used to have friends over to the house (and drink absinthe while arguing French politics) to name whatever came out of the studio. I think that the best captions sometimes come from outside the artist’s head and that there’s a really good reason to believe words and pictures are collaborative.
Best title for the painting gets to own it. This was great fun to make, but I’ve got a hard enough time convincing my wife we need all this Captain America stuff around the house.
